Stronger, faster movements are related to actions by the brain rather than selective recruitments of motor unit types. The strongest muscle is not functional if it can’t contract quickly and in co-ordination with other muscles. Train the muscles for how they will be used in the sport providing co-ordinated movement patterns and reflexive joint stabilisation- you get what you train for!
Stage 1: The Biomechanical Movement Screening:
For all sports the starting base is how you move now. We will assess your muscle length, flexibility/mobility, balance/stability and any compensation strategies you are currently using to get around any limitations.
Stage 2: The Strength & Conditioning plan
Dependent on your individual and sporting requirements we will design and implement a periodized strength & conditioning plan to get you into your optimal shape for the event or season.
Why have a periodised plan?
I will structure a plan so that you can realise objectives you want to achieve.
This will be broken down into planned variation to exploit the body’s potential, avoid over–training and stagnation or plateaus. The plan will therefore consist of:
Stage 3: Compete
You will be able to compete with the confidence knowing you have realised your maximal physical potential - enjoy!
